Hällsnäs’s history dates back to 1906, when the manor was built as a summer residence. Today, the main building has been carefully renovated and complemented by modern extensions that house the restaurants Sjöö and Signum, a spa facility, orangery, and conference facilities. In 2025, the hotel expanded with 32 newly built lakeside rooms, including four suites with private saunas. In total, the hotel features 69 rooms, with interiors ranging from modern Scandinavian design to a rustic manor-house style.

A culinary journey at Michelin-starred Signum

The hotel’s two restaurants, Sjöö and Signum, are led by award-winning chef Thomas Sjögren, named Chef of the Year in 2015 and winner of Kockarnas kamp (“The Chef’s Battle”).

In 2025, Signum was awarded its second Michelin star, making it a unique culinary destination in West Sweden. The menu centres on fish and seafood, enhanced by vegetables and foraged ingredients from Sweden’s wild nature. It is served as a tasting menu of at least 18 courses.

Sauna and spa with lakeside views

Located on a headland in the lake, the hotel’s spa area features a wood-fired floating sauna, infrared sauna, and two outdoor hot baths. The spa is open to hotel guests and can also be booked for a day spa experience including lunch or dinner.
