Keillers Park stretches up the slopes of Ramberget on Hisingen, combining woodland paths, open lawns and one of Gothenburg’s widest city views. Take a walk through the greenery, pause by the pond and continue to the top, where the city, the river and the archipelago spread out below you.

Walk through parkland and woodland

Here, you do not have to choose between a traditional city park and something a little wilder. Keillers Park mixes landscaped areas with natural woodland, with walking paths, open spaces and plenty of room for an unhurried stroll.

By the pond, you will find Carl Milles’ sculpture Najad. It makes a pleasant stop before you continue uphill towards the top of Ramberget.

The park was donated to the City of Gothenburg in 1906 by James Keiller, then director of the Götaverken shipyard. His intention was for the area to remain a natural park, and it still feels more like a green hillside within the city than a formally arranged park.

Make sure to leave a little time for the viewpoint at the top. From 87 metres above sea level, you can look out across Gothenburg, the Göta river and towards the archipelago. It is a good place to get your bearings – or simply stop and take in the city from above.

Getting to Keillers Park

The park can be reached from several public transport stops on Hisingen, including Ramberget, Lantmannagatan, Herkulesgatan and Wieselgrensplatsen.

From April to October, the road barrier leading up Ramberget is normally open every day from 08.00–18.30. It closes in the evening to make the road safer for pedestrians.
