From Saltholmen, ferries depart for the islands of Gothenburg’s southern archipelago, including Brännö, Styrsö and Vrångö. In summer, the area is also a popular swimming spot, known for its rocky shoreline and refreshing salty, sea swims.
Saltholmen also offers beautiful walking paths and stunning views of the sea. Be sure to stop by the small café in Kallbadsparken, Paradiset. Here you can enjoy pizza, carefully selected natural wines and a relaxed game of boules. Both table reservations and drop-in visits are welcome. Paradiset is open during the spring and summer seasons.
Getting to Saltholmen
Tram or bus
You can reach Saltholmen by tram 11, as well as line 9 during the summer. Travel time from central Gothenburg is approximately 35 minutes.
Bus 114, known as Ö-snabben, is a faster option with a journey time of around 25 minutes.

Bike
It is possible to cycle all the way from central Gothenburg to Saltholmen. During the summer season, from 1 June, Styr & Ställ bike-share bicycles are available at Saltholmen. Styr & Ställ has bike-share stations at more than 130 locations across Gothenburg.
Bikes are allowed on the ferries if there is available space.
Car
Parking at Saltholmen is limited to spaces for people with reduced mobility. If you are travelling by car, parking is available at Talattagatan and Vikebacken in Långedrag, and during the summer also at Hinsholmskilen. From Långedrag and Hinsholmen, take the tram for the final stretch to Saltholmen.
Please note that all islands in the southern archipelago are car-free.
Guest harbour for private boats
In Långedrag, about a 20-minute walk from Saltholmen, you will find the GKSS guest harbour. The harbour is staffed during the high season, from 1 June to 31 August, and is closed during the winter period, from 1 November to 30 April. Available berths are marked with green signs, while occupied berths are marked in red. Payment is made via the Go Marina mobile app or at the payment machine by the clubhouse.
