The twin artworks on the small square at Magasinsgatan are created by Sophie Mess, a street artist based in the UK. Sophie Mess creates botanically inspired works of art, from colourful objects from nature to urban landscapes.
The murals came about through Artscape and are part of the anniversary project 21 km art. Sophie Mess’ artwork has replaced the previous mural The Braided Sisters by Hueman, which was part of Artscape’s street art festival in 2016.
