Discover Gothenburg in a new way with a guided train tour. Stinsen takes you through the city’s historic neighborhoods and parks. Stinsen offers two different tours. A tour of old Gothenburg and one in the park Slottsskogen. The trains are equipped with rain covers so you can enjoy the experience regardless of the weather.
Train tour in old Gothenburg
The tour in old Gothenburg starts at the square Gustaf Adolfs Torg and is a journey through the city’s history, where you travel along small streets, squares and neighborhoods that bear traces of Gothenburg’s 400-year development.
Along the way, you pass well-known places such as Kronshusbodarna, The Gothenburg Cathedral, Stora Teatern (the Great Theater) and the neighborhood of Haga. The tour has an audio guide in several languages along with sound effects such as horse hooves and burning churches that bring history to life.
Train tour in Slottsskogen city park
In Slottsskogen, Gothenburg’s largest and most popular park, there is a shorter, family-friendly tour of 15 minutes. Here the guide is adapted so that even the youngest passengers are engaged and entertained. Along the route, you will learn about the park and its secrets. The tour starts from Plikta playground in Slottskogen, a large playground near the Göteborg Natural History Museum.
About Stinsen Sightseeing
Stinsen Sightseeing has been on the streets of Gothenburg since 2010 and wants to show the city in a personal and engaging way. The idea grew out of a desire to complement classic experiences such as the Paddan boat tour, with a new perspective from land.
Before the premiere, a lot of time was spent researching at Göteborgs Stadsmuseum (Gothenburg City Museum) where the foundation for today’s guide took shape. The choice to start from old Gothenburg, with the square Gustaf Adolfs Torg as the centre because this is where the city once grew.
