Together with Skansen Kronan, this building was risen by King Karl XI in the late 17th century. Gullberget has been a fortified location since the 1300.
Today this building is run by Götiska förbundet who together with a couple of chefs cater for private functions such as weddings and anniversaries. With its stunning view over the city, it has become a popular venue for special celebrations.
If you're lucky, you might happen to be there on one of the official gun salute days.
The six official salute days in Sweden are:
January 28th – HM the King’s names day
April 30th – HM the King’s birthday
June 6th – National Day
July 14th – HRH the Crown Princess’s birthday
August 8th – HM the Queen’s names day
December 23rd – HM the Queen’s birthday
