Slayer but slow you say? Yes! It is a thing, it has a name, and it is “Slower.”

The ultimate Slayer cover band comprised of hard hitting legends from the heavy underground. Mighty thrash classics are slowed way the fuck down, creating an aural beating of a whole different kind and judging by the phenomenal response to their self-titled album released in January, there’s no slowing down this riff train.

The Slower slaughter takes place on November 8 at Musikens Hus, unleashing their sludged up, tuned down mayhem over Göteborg.

The brain child of Bob Balch from Fu Manchu, Slower started in 2019 while slowing down the Slayer song “South Of Heaven” to teach to a beginner student. Thinking it sounded cool, Bob tuned down to B standard and tried it himself and after adding some drums he thought that someone in the doom community should do take it on and the name “Slower” occurred to him. A special, chance meeting backstage leading to a great friendship and collaborative spirit borne out of the pandemic galvanized the involvement from some of doom & stoner’s preeminent talents and Slower became a reality.
