In the exhibition Body. Ideal, Gaze, Freedom, works and artists from different eras come together to explore and challenge historical and contemporary ideals, the role of the model, and the body’s own potential for expression and creativity.

The rich presentation includes painting, sculpture, drawing, and prints, as well as photography and video works. The majority of the more than 100 artworks are part of the museum’s collection, with artists including Hanna Pauli, Francis Bacon, and Charlotte Gyllenhammar.

The exhibition also features works by Nick Cave, Ana Mendieta, and Hannah Wilke, on loan from other institutions, along with contributions from participating contemporary artists such as Sally von Rosen and Ruby Okoro.
