Cold Song
Creation by Marcos Morau
This piece by Spanish choreographer and multi-artist Marcos Morau is wildly entertaining with moments of absurd humor. The title Cold Song refers to the music, which is based on an aria of the same name from Henry Purcell’s opera King Arthur. In Cold Song the dancers take on different characters. The set consists of a mysterious table-like box that hides all sorts of fantastic surprises. Both the dancers and the set are transformed as Cold Song transports the audience somewhere between reality and theatrical magic. Such is the reputation of Marcos and the dance comapny that the piece was booked sight-unseen by several European tour locations even before it had its world premiere in February 2026.
Music in Cold Song

We Made a Mess!
Creation by Botis Seva
The rising British star Botis Seva creates intense dance experiences. He blends hip hop, breakdance and theatricality with contemporary dance to create a completely unique movement language – that is both poignant and ferocious – backed by pounding rhythm and deep empathy. We made a mess! is the choreographer’s first work for the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, and was inspired by schoolyard power struggles. In spring 2025, Botis Seva and his company, Far from the norm, were guests at the Göteborg Opera’s Dance Festival with BLKDOG, which won an Olivier Award in 2019.
