‘Past the Point’ presents two new works: one by Botis Seva, who has merged hip-hop and contemporary dance styles into his own unique expression; and one by the acclaimed Marcos Morau, who was named Choreographer of the Year by the prestigious Tanz magazine in 2023.

New creation by Botis Seva

British dance phenomenon Botis Seva creates fearless, uncompromising dance art, fusing hip-hop, breakdance, dance theatre, and contemporary movement into a language entirely his own. His works are both brutal and deeply moving, driven by pounding rhythms and heartfelt intensity. Botis Seva’s pieces often deliver bold and urgent messages. His BLKDOG, performed at Göteborg Opera’s Dance Festival 2025 with his company Far From the Norm, won the Olivier Award in 2019.

New creation by Marcos Morau

This programme also features a new work by Spanish choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Marcos Morau. Renowned for his wild, entertaining creations laced with absurd humour, he last visited Gothenburg in 2017, when he created the visually striking and widely acclaimed Rothko Chapel for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani.
