This will be the first time Sweden hosts the Pétanque World Championships in their current format, where the singles and doubles championships are decided in alternating years. The event also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Swedish Boules Federation and is expected to become a major celebration for both players and spectators.

Ahead of the championships, Scandinavium will be transformed into a pétanque arena filled with gravel and international elite sport. Each nation will be represented by four players, two women and two men. World champions will be crowned in five disciplines: women’s singles, men’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. Up to 50 nations from around the world are expected to take part.

With its central location, Scandinavium provides excellent conditions for both intense competition and a vibrant event atmosphere around the playing area. The championships are aimed at dedicated pétanque fans as well as curious first time visitors, offering strategic gameplay, high precision, and strong emotions.
