It is one of western Sweden’s leading privately run theatres and has welcomed legendary performers such as Harriet Bosse, Ernst Rolf and Karl Gerhard, as well as contemporary stars including Magnus Uggla, Laleh and Bo Kaspers Orkester.
For a period, the theatre operated as a cinema, but in 1987 Kulturtuben, the production company behind Galenskaparna and After Shave, took over its operation and the venue once again became a stage for a wide variety of performances. In 2025, Oscarsteatern AB, owned by Vicky Nöjesproduktion and 2Entertain, took over the running of the theatre.
Today, Lorensbergsteatern hosts major musicals and shows alongside guest concerts, stand-up comedy and family entertainment. The theatre is also available to hire for private events. Visit the Lorensbergsteatern website for more information.
