Oscar II Fort is located on Västberget in the Gothenburg inlet and was built between 1899 and 1907. The fort would serve as a modern defense for the city and as a replacement of the much older Älvsborg Fortress.
The fort has been untouched since the Second World War and is now a museum.
If you are interested in visiting Oscar II Fort for a guided tour, you will need to make a reservation. It is important to know is that the museum only accept reservations from groups of minimum 10 people.
A few times a year, the fort is open to visitors without pre-booking. Please see their website or their Facebook page for more information.
