Take a garden walk through central Lerum. Along the Säveån river, Växtrum brings together a collection of distinctive gardens created by leading Swedish garden designers and local volunteers. Come for planting ideas, a peaceful walk or simply some time among flowers, greenery and unexpected details.

Explore gardens with different styles

Each garden has its own design, planting and idea. Along the route, you will find everything from lush borders and clearly defined garden rooms to places where art, growing and biodiversity sit side by side.

You don’t need green fingers to enjoy Växtrum – a little curiosity will do just fine. Follow the route at your own pace, stop where something catches your eye and pick up a few ideas to take home.

The gardens are linked by a signposted trail between Lake Aspen and the centre of Lerum. You can walk the full route or choose a shorter loop. Several gardens are grouped near Aspen, while others are closer to the town centre.

Guided walks and other activities are also arranged at different times of the year.

Good to know

The gardens are free to visit and open throughout the year, although spring and summer naturally bring the most abundant planting. The walking route has been adapted to make it easier to get around.

Getting to Växtrum in Lerum

From Gothenburg, take the commuter train to Aspedalen or Lerum. The two stations are at opposite ends of the 3.6-kilometre route, so you can start at one station and catch the train back from the other.
