World Masters Athletics Championships 2024

World Masters Athletics Championships is an event of large scale, going on for two weeks and engaging about 8000 participating athletes, all over 35 years old, representing over 100 nations.

Including athletes and their travel companions, the organizers estimated that around 20 000 people will visit Gothenburg during the championships, which is planned to be held 13–25 August 2024.

Sweden has hosted World Masters Athletics Championships once before – in Gothenburg 1977. Gothenburg has also hosted three other major athletics championships before – World Championships 1995. European Championships 2006 and European Indoor Championships 2013.
