Golf in Gothenburg

Best of Hisingen

There are three golf clubs on the island Hisingen. The biggest one, Albatross golfklubb, has an 18-hole course, a 9-hole pay and play course and a short course where the holes are around 100 metres long which is great for practicing your short game.

Torslanda golfklubb is also found on Hisingen with a seaside course for all levels.

The complex Sankt Jörgen Park has both a luxury hotel and a golf course – and it is the latter that we are interested in. The course has two distinct focuses. The first, older part, is of park character with strategically planned bunkers. The second one is longer and wider, which means you get to control most of the different golf shots to shoot a low score.

Seven golf courses just north of Gothenburg

There is no lack of golf courses in the area north of Gothenburg. Gullbringa golf & country club is located in southern Bohuslän and is the home course to both the major winner Helen Alfredsson and the British Open winner Henrik Stenson.

There are plenty more courses in the area. For example, you could try the spectacular par 6-hole at Kungälv-Kode golfklubb, play the beautiful course Lycke golf & country club Marstrand or the parkland golf course at Lunna golf & country club.

If that weren’t enough there are a few more in the area. Ale has its own course and not far from there you’ll find the charming Lysegårdens golfklubb and Backa säteri golf.

Forest courses in the countryside

East of Gothenburg, you’ll come across a few more golf clubs. As you head inland the forest courses are more common. There are three clubs in this area; Partille golfklubb in Partille, Chalmers golfklubb in Landvetter and Lerjedalens golfklubb in Gunnilse.

In Floda, further east, you’ll find Sweden’s largets golf complex Öijared resort. There are no less than three full-length courses in addition to a multi course for regular golf, frisbeegolf and footgolf.

In Gråbo you’ll find Stora Lundby which has an 18-hole course and a shorter one for those yet to receive a green card certificate. If you’re hungry or thirsty after the round there is a restaurant next to the final hole where you can enjoy a meal or something to drink.

South of Gothenburg

South of Gothenburg there are several courses worth playing. Closest to the city centre is Delsjö golfklubb – just a couple of kilometres away. At Mölndals golfklubb, Sisjö golfklubb and Torrekulla golfklubb you can challenge yourself at some beautiful courses. The golf clubs are located just a long drive away from each other, so it is possible to play two of them on the same day.

Hovås and Askim is home to two of Gothenburg’s most exciting golf courses. Hills golf & sports club has been the host for the European Tour tournament Scandinavian Invitation as late as 2018 and 2019, which indicates a high standard. The club Göteborgs golfklubb is a well-renowned and popular course that has several holes along the seaside.

Scenic golf courses further south

The greater region of Kungsbacka has several impressive golf courses, amongst them is the two-fold host of the Scandinavian Masters (in the 1990s) – Forsgårdens golfklubb. And you don’t have to search for long before you’ll find more scenic courses in the area. Särö golf club, Gräppås golfklubb and Vallda golf & country club are all great golf courses in the landscape of Halland.
