Draken Live is a cinema and stage located at Järntorget and Heurlins Plats in Gothenburg. A long-standing meeting place for Gothenburg’s cultural life. The premiere took place on April 26th, 1956, and regular screenings ended in May 1995.

The cinema’s 20 metre wide screen is among Sweden’s widest and the total area is 102 square meters. At the beginning of 1995, the Swedish Film Industry decided to close down the cinema. A joint action by the Gothenburg Film Festival, Göteborgs-Posten, Gothenburg Municipality and 713 private individuals saved the cinema, which was then run by Drakens Vänner, followed by Folkets Hus.

As of autumn 2023, Draken is operated by Krall Entertainment and goes by the name Draken Live – Gothenburg’s new meeting place for entertainment experiences.

Draken is the only venue west of central Gothenburg that can accommodate a larger audience. Both large companies, performances and meetings.
